FLORENCE, AL – In a unanimous vote taken by the University of North Alabama Board of Trustees at the Dec. 2 meeting, the arena in Flowers Hall has been officially named the CB&S Bank Arena for the next 10 years.

“We are exceedingly pleased by the opportunity to partner with CB&S Bank in the naming of CB&S Bank Arena in Flowers Hall,” said UNA President Dr. Ken Kitts. “Engaging with and developing partnerships across the community and region strengthens the institution as well as the programs these partnerships support.”

In addition to CB&S logos on the arena floor as well as external signage, the arena will be referred to during broadcasts as well as all print media as CB&S Bank Arena. The monies from this generous gift will go to the Graduating Champions Fund that supports UNA Athletics.

“Our company is excited to partner with the University of North Alabama on naming it’s sports arena,” said Mike Ross, President and CEO of CB&S Bank. “UNA plays an essential role in the Tennessee Valley Region. We are honored and proud to be a part of the Lions Legacy.”

Ross also stated, “CB&S Bank is committed to a long term relationship with UNA and is excited about the future of this fine school.”

The naming is effective Jan. 1, 2023, and signage will be updated at Flowers Hall in the weeks to come.

“We are so grateful for CB&S Bank and their strong history of supporting the University of North Alabama philanthropically,” said Kevin Haslam, Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the UNA Foundation. “This gift is transformational for UNA Athletics; it is an indication that CB&S Bank shares President Kitts’s vision for being Division I in all we do, and it is yet another marker of excellence for our Division I institution.”

Flowers Hall has long been home to UNA Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Volleyball. The venue recently underwent significant renovations alongside UNA’s move to Division I competition and has been updated to showcase the rebranded Athletics identity.

“UNA Athletics is proud to elevate its partnership with CB&S Bank on this significant and meaningful naming of CB&S Bank Arena in Flowers Hall,” said UNA Athletic Director Dr. Josh Looney. “This kind of support is special to our athletes as well as coaches, and will propel us to future growth and success at the Division I level. We look forward to Raising the Roar at CB&S Bank Arena.”
